Micro Soldering Repair for Phones, MacBooks & Game Consoles

A dead device is not always a dead board. Most “will not turn on”, “will not charge” and “no display” faults come down to one failed chip, connector or trace. We find that fault under the microscope and repair it, so you may not need to replace the device or lose your data.

Your data

Dead-device data recovery

If the board can be repaired and storage is intact, your files can survive.

  • No promise until the device is tested

Symptoms to cause

What your symptom usually means

The symptom points to a likely fault. A bench test confirms it before any repair is approved.

Symptom Common board-level cause What we do
Dead, no sign of life Failed power management chip, shorted capacitor, or a damaged power rail Measure power draw, find the short, replace the failed part
Will not charge, or only at an angle Damaged charging port, or a failed charging IC that a new port cannot fix Test the charging circuit, then replace the port or the chip
Dim or dark screen, sound still works Backlight circuit fault, usually a failed coil, diode or driver Trace the backlight line and repair the failed component
Face ID stopped after a drop or screen repair Damaged sensor flex or a broken connection on the board Inspect and repair the sensor line where it is repairable
Restarts again and again Failed storage or CPU connection, or a shorted rail after liquid Diagnose the cause on the board before any repair is quoted
Console powers on, no picture Damaged or loose HDMI port, or lifted pads Replace the HDMI port and repair the pads
Laptop shows no charge or no power Failed charging IC, USB-C port or shorted power rail Test the charging path and repair the failed part

Causes are typical for each symptom and vary by model. Your quote is based on testing your device.

How it works

From dead device to quote in four steps

1

Tell us what happened

Call or visit. Share the model, the symptom, and what happened before it failed: a drop, liquid, or a failed earlier repair.

2

Board-level testing

We test the device and examine the board under the microscope to find the failed part, without guessing.

3

Clear quote, your decision

You get the price and the expected time. We only start the repair after you approve.

4

Repair and pick-up

We repair and test the device, then call you. Pick it up at the store you dropped it at.

Why board-level repair

Repair the part, not the whole device

  • Often costs less than replacing the device or the entire board
  • Keeps your data, apps and settings on the original board
  • Fixes faults a new screen, battery or port cannot fix
  • Gives you a clear answer, including when a repair is not worth it

If your device is dead or wet

  • Do not keep trying to charge or power it on
  • After liquid, power it off at once and do not use rice
  • Do not open it or pry at the board
  • Bring the original charger and tell us what happened
  • Back up first if it still turns on

Questions

Micro soldering FAQs

What is micro soldering?

Micro soldering is repair of the very small parts on a circuit board, such as charging chips, connectors, capacitors and traces, using a microscope and fine soldering tools. It lets a technician fix the failed part instead of replacing the whole board or device.

How much does micro soldering cost?

The price depends on your device and the fault, so we quote it after testing. You hear the price before any repair work starts and you decide whether to go ahead. Call either store for a quote.

What if you cannot fix my device?

Some boards are too damaged to repair. If that is the case, we tell you after testing and before you approve any repair work.

Can you recover my data from a dead phone or MacBook?

Often yes, if the board can be repaired and the storage is undamaged. We cannot promise recovery until the device has been tested.

My phone got wet. What should I do?

Power it off right away, do not charge it, and bring it in as soon as you can. Corrosion spreads over time, so a quick visit gives the best chance of a repair.

Which devices and brands do you repair?

iPhone and Samsung phones, MacBooks and laptops, and game consoles including PS5, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. Walk-ins are welcome. Message or call with your model and symptoms for guidance.

Do I need an appointment?

Walk-ins are welcome at both stores. For a board-level fault, we suggest calling ahead with the model and the symptom so the team can tell you what to expect.

Share a preference and our team will confirm by message. Walk-ins are welcome.
